Hello, hello, hello!!! I couldn’t be more excited to be back typing to you after a little hiatus. For those of you who have been around for a while, you know that The Sugar Vine has been offline for a little while. I needed to do some work on the website and spend some time reflecting on how I could best serve you. After a lot of careful thought, I’ve come up with a plan that I think you’re really going to like.
First of all, we’re going to shift the focus of the blog slightly. We’re still doing wine education, fun facts, and wine and dessert pairings; but we’ll also be doing some savory food pairings, too. As much as I love dessert, not everyone eats it quite as much as I do and I want you to know about wines that you can love with any meal, not just with dessert.
Second, while the site was down, I became a wine guide with Traveling Vineyard. I am now able to offer you free in-home wine tastings with Traveling Vineyard wines so you can discover new wines and try them before you buy them. I joined Traveling Vineyard because the company’s approach to wine is the same as mine- every glass should be a celebration. We want everyone to feel comfortable ordering wine and pairing it with foods and believe learning about wine should be fun instead of stuffy. Plus, the wine is fantastic!
Finally, over the next couple months I’ll be launching three really great resources for you. The first is for my local readers, a list of my favorite wineries, wine bars, and restaurants. These are places with owners that love what they do and are passionate about sharing their wine and food with you. The second is a site dedicated to wine and food accessories and gifts. The options will be carefully curated to best serve your needs- quality items that are both useful and fun. The third resource is one I’m really excited about: I’ll be launching online classes on wine and wine and food pairing to help you deepen your understanding of the wine and food world. My goal is for you to expand your knowledge, whether you are a beginner or a full-blown wine-o.
I hope you’re as excited as I am about these changes! I’ll see you back here in a week with a yummy savory pairing idea for you. In the meantime, reach out and let me know what you’ve been up to all this time!
